An intriguing race is expected in the Handicap Court Harwell, the second featured event of Friday’s card at San Isidro

The Handicap Court Harwell, one of the two feature races on Friday at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, will take place over one mile and is reserved for 5-year-old and older mares who are winners. Only six horses have been confirmed for the race.
The Córdoba-bred Costa Dark (In the Dark) is in top form, which is why she’ll carry the maximum weight of 58 kilos. Trained by Sergio Carezzana and ridden by Juan Cruz Villagra, she comes into the race with three wins from her last four outings, the most recent being a victory in the Handicap Tatán over 1800 meters, defeating Galitza (Bodemeister) by a head.
It’s no surprise that Galitza will face her again, aiming for revenge while carrying 55 ½ kilos, a one-kilo weight difference from their previous meeting.
It’s likely we’ll see a duel between the two, as they’ll need to manage their energy carefully to avoid surprises in the final stretch.
Noche Plateada (In the Dark, 55 ½) also comes into the race with a strong effort, having finished third that day, three lengths behind Galitza. She’ll need to improve if she hopes to close the gap from their last encounter.
The list of horses capable of taking the top spot doesn’t end there, as Masnou (Safety Check, 54 ½) also presents a serious challenge, receiving weight advantages over some of the others.
The filly has been knocking on the door of her first major victory, recently finishing second, three lengths behind Viva Al Sur (South Kissing) in the Handicap Rafale, ahead of Che Mamita (Safety Check) and Noche Plateada. Now, she’ll have 200 more meters to showcase her qualities.
Further back in the odds, we find Ciencia Galáctica (Galicado, 53 ½), who finished seventh in the Handicap Rafalequite far behind, and Wish You More (Winning Prize, 50 ½), who moves up in distance after finishing sixth, eight and a half lengths behind Aiyanna (Santillano) in the Handicap Ante Diem at San Isidro.
