The daughter of Strategos confirmed her sharp upward trajectory by scoring an authoritative victory in the Clásico Etoile(L), finding a seam along the rail before shaking clear of La Farce and Oíme Bien
She has long ceased to be merely a filly with potential. Creencia Espiritual (56 1/2 kg) is riding a fantastic run of form, developing with every start, and on Wednesday cemented her status among the premier around-the-turn sprinters at San Isidro with an authoritative victory in the Clásico Etoile (L-1200 m, dirt), the feature on a modest card.
The daughter of Strategos entered off a steady upward curve and delivered a decisive performance, constructed on a favorable trip but ultimately showcasing that signature quality of top racehorses: the ability to capitalize on daylight the moment it opens. Francisco Lavigna kept her well in hand for much of the running, staying clear of the early battle up front waged by Blessed of Glory, Oíme Bien, and La Farce, all three intent on setting the terms.
Blessed of Glory (Hat Ninja, 55 1/2 kg) attempted to put her speed to work from the break, though she never managed to shake free. Oíme Bien (Daddy Long Legs, 56 kg) and La Farce (Emmanuel, 56 1/2 kg) kept the pressure on, forming a tight front rank and forcing the leader to spend energy before reaching the home bend. Tucked in behind, Creencia Espiritual bided her time, comfortably restrained and saving up her move.
As they turned for home, with Blessed of Glory beginning to falter while Oíme Bien and La Farce continued their duel, Lavigna spotted a seam along the inside rail. He didn't hesitate. Sliding up the fence, once straightened out, the chestnut filly surged forward with effortless ease.
By mid-stretch, she had already put away the two lingering pacesetters. From that point, the outcome was settled in short order. Creencia Espiritual shifted gears, drew clear, and coasted home without a moment's threat, giving every impression that she had plenty left in the tank. La Farce kept on to secure second, half a length back, finishing 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Oíme Bien. The final time for the distance was 1m10s43/100.
The winner had been showing clear signs of improvement, and now she successfully transferred that momentum to the stakes level.
