SAN ISIDRO, Buenos Aires (Special for Turf Diario).- Saturday's meeting at the Hipódromo de San Isidro was not only generous in terms of stakes races. The conditional races also provided a superb setting, including the first turns over 1400 meters on the turf for fillies and colts, already aiming for what will be, in a few weeks, the Eliseo Ramírez (G2) and the Raúl y Raúl E. Chevalier (G2).

The girls were responsible for breaking the ice in the Premio Tit Tuler, and there Deep Feeling executed an infallible charge to live up to her very good debut, when she had finished third behind Juara (Storm Embrujado) in mid-January.

A little over a month after her official presentation, the daughter of Seahenge and Día de Felicidad (Equal Stripes) proved that she is built for classic distances by charging wide to dominate near the finish line, overtaking Lovefest (Le Blues) to beat her by 1 1/2 lengths in 1m22s60/100.

In the reins of the Stud Color Tango defender, Urbano José Cháves shone, measuring the development to the centimeter. The bay, which was bred at Haras Vacación, was presented by Ezequiel I. Sánchez.

Immediately after, it was time for the colts, with a perfect debut by Mask May, a Las Monjitas card sharpened by Carlos D. Etchechoury under the guidance of Kevin Banegas.

At a celebratory price ($ 9.30), the handsome chestnut showed his class despite his inexperience, always traveling with poise near the leader Don Kazuma (Uncle Chuck), passing along the rails upon entering the straight and pulling away with total authority to accumulate 4 lengths of advantage at the finish line over the favorite Señor Miguel (Señor Candy), stopping the clock at 1m22s80/100.

Mask May was born at Haras La Valkiria and is a son of the very generous stallion Mask, the first foal of the stakes winner Lucy May (Cima de Triomphe), a full sister to the G1 winner Una Arrabalera, Horse of the Year and Champion 3-Year-Old Filly of 2022, when she won the Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1) and Gran Premio Selección de Potrancas (G1).

With Deep Feeling and Mask May, the 2023 generation has names to dream about facing the next selective steps coming up on the turf. There is still much ground to cover, and one cannot look too far ahead, but winning well and early at a distance like 1400 meters is no small feat. Quite the opposite!
