The very good colt from Stud El Basti won a conditional race in a romp and now has the road toward the OSAF (G1) ahead of him...

No one was surprised this Monday at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo to see Descamisado exert superb superiority over the only four rivals who came out to face him in the Premio Moreno (1600m, fast dirt), the best of the day's conditional events.
At odds of $ 1.10, the colt from Stud El Basti showed his true quality, winning by several lengths and making it clear that for his future, the stakes are once again the primary option.
A son of Cosmic Trigger, Descamisado—whose original name was Durazno Sangrando—carries a string of close finishes in major events, but for one reason or another, his record does not yet display a top-level trophy. He was second in the Gran Premio Estrellas Mile (G1) and in the Pedro Goenaga (G2) and Old Man (G3) stakes; third in the Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos (G1), the Gran Premio Palermo (G1), and the Clásico Perú (G2); and fourth in the Gran Premio de las Américas - OSAF (G1), the Gran Premio Joaquín S. de Anchorena (G1), and the Clásico Ecuador(G2).
There was no parity on the track, as was to be expected, with the trainee of Juan J. Etchechoury appearing superior at every moment. First, he gradually warmed up while Lizard Ruler (Lizard Island) set slow fractions of 26s93/100 and 50s53/100. Then, already on the turn, he loomed over the leader with overwhelming action; and finally, in the homestretch, he pulled away with total comfort from the 400-meter mark to the wire.
At the finish, it was 8 lengths that he put between himself and Lizard Ruler, without ever being urged by his jockey, Facundo Coria, stopping the clock in 1m37s47/100 on a track that remains as demanding as it has been since December.
Bred by Haras Juan Antonio, Descamisado shook off the layoff, as he had not raced since the Joaquín S. de Anchorena, and made it clear that he is ready to improve upon everything he has done so far. Perhaps the Gran Premio de las Américas - OSAF (G1) on May 1st—the day of the Gran Premio República Argentina (G1)—will serve as his first major objective.
Immediately following, in the Premio Dean Funes for 3-year-olds with one win over 1400 meters in the alternative category, Vamos a Brindar (Equal Talent) maintained his undefeated status by besting Fernetcito (Zensational) by a half-length, completing a double for jockey William Pereyra.
