LA PUNTA, San Luis (Special for Turf Diario).- The Hipódromo La Punta will host another marquee day of racing this Sunday, headlined by the latest renewal of the Clásico Estrellas Provincias Argentinas - Copa Lito Bestani (L-1000m, dirt), the original Estrellas race dedicated to juveniles based in Argentina’s interior.

Open to 2-year-olds enrolled in the series supported by the Fundación Equina Argentina, the feature will distribute ARS 7,800,000 in purses, with ARS 5,000,000 going to the winner. The card also includes the Clásico FEAR (1400m, dirt), reserved for 3-year-olds and up also registered in the Estrellas program, offering ARS 5,900,000 in total prizes—ARS 4,000,000 to the victor.

The day could be a perfect opportunity for Dices Que Sí (Touareg) to extend his unbeaten record in official competition. The colt turned heads in late March at this same venue when he scored a dominant six-length victory in the Clásico Estrellas Precoces going 800 meters.

Among his main challengers will be Neón Boy (Cosmic Trigger), who returns just days after capturing the Clásico Copa La Punta Junior in impressive style. That day, he defeated the filly Pura Mística (Il Mercato) by 4 3/4 lengths—she too will return for a rematch.

While the field for the Clásico Fundación Equina Argentina is compact with six runners, there’s no shortage of intrigue. Chief among the contenders is Apple of My Eye (Ecólogo), a standout from Río Cuarto who remains undefeated in two career starts. After taking the Clásico Gran Final Copa Grandes Promesas locally, he shipped to San Isidro and dominated the Clásico Estrellas Dirt Junior, drawing clear by 3 1/2 lengths over Pradet (Orpen).

No Lo Soñé (Touareg) and The Cyclone (In the Dark) also bring strong credentials and could very well be factors in the finish.

The program will close with the Especial Colifato Novo (1800m, dirt), a non-black-type event that nonetheless presents an interesting cast, led by Votemos (Manipulator), Fest King (Daniel Boone), and French Champion (Treasure Beach).
