LIMA, Perú (Special for Turf Diario by Diario El Crack).- Don Feres will travel to Argentina this weekend to continue his campaign in the country, as announced by his owner, Omar Machi, in an interview with Diario El Crack. The trip will be direct to Buenos Aires, where the horse will begin preparations for the Gran Premio 25 de Mayo (G1-2400 m), to be held on the turf at Hipódromo de San Isidro. However, it is also possible that he will run another important stakes race beforehand as part of his preparation.
A three times champion in Perú, Don Feres has had two notable performances at the Buenos Aires track. He finished third by half a length in the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1-2400 m) last December, behind Intense For Me (Fortify) and El Kódigo (Equal Stripes), both of whom are set to race in the Saudi Cup (G1-1800 m) next week. Previously, he was second to the Brazilian Doutor Sureño (Agnes Gold) in the Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1-2000 m) in 2023. The grey will continue to be trained by Juan Suárez.
The original plan was for Don Feres to remain in Argentina after the Pellegrini, but due to bureaucratic issues, he had to return to Peru. Now, another chapter begins for the remarkable grey horse.
