Capturing the Especial Aerostática and Especial Haras La Biznaga, respectively, the centerpieces of Sunday's card

A pair of high-quality mares with established records stood out above the local ranks during Sunday’s program at the Bosque track, capturing the day's two feature events.
In the Especial Aerostática, contested over 1,000 meters, Doña Chila (Peten Itza) overcame the daunting top weight of 60 kg (132 lbs) to return to the winner's circle. Guided by jockey Kevin Banegas, the chestnut engaged in a sharp early duel with stakes winner Beau Breeze (AP Candy) and Jaque Mate Sar (Sardinero), clicking off an opening fraction of :23.67.
Upon entering the stretch, Doña Chila found another gear, drawing away from her rivals to secure a three-length victory over a persistent Jaque Mate Sar. The final time was :59.27 after a half-mile split of :46.18. It was the eighth career win for the Marcos A. Giammatolo trainee, representing the Pobre Vasco stable of Tandil. Bred by Haras Gran Amigo, the mare has now surpassed 37 million pesos in total earnings.
Later in the card, Guadilú (Señor Candy, 56 kg) utilized contrasting tactics to dominate the Especial Haras La Biznagaover 1,400 meters. Sitting off the pace early, she loomed large at the 300-meter mark, overhauling Queen's Reward (Grand Reward) with ease before drawing off in the final stages.
At the wire, the Agustín Pavlovsky trainee held a commanding five-length advantage over the favorite Vieja Amiga Mask (Mask), stopping the clock in a solid 1:23.20. Owned by Stud Lagrange and bred by Gamlingay SA, Guadilú was ridden by Gonzalo Borda, the current leader in both the local and national standings. This victory marks her sixth win in 15 lifetime starts.
