A multiple G1 winner at a mile, he will go beyond that distance for the first time in his career in the Clásico Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (L)

El Exito is a completely different horse on the dirt at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, and that’s why he’ll return to that stage on Saturday in search of a new objective. After several failed attempts on turf—so much so that he wasn’t even entered in the Joaquín S. de Anchorena (G1)—the son of Il Campione stands as the main attraction in the Clásico Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (L), where he will compete beyond a mile for the first time in his career, the distance over which he made his name.

A winner of the last two renewals of the Gran Premio de las Américas – OSAF (G1) and also of the Gran Premio Estrellas Mile (G1), the Stud F. Enrique runner exits an excellent effort in the Gran Premio Palermo (G1), where he was caught late by Earth God (Cosmic Trigger) after giving everything he had.

Generous and always part of the early action, El Exito will now have to withstand an extra 200 meters compared to what he’s used to—an assignment that could open a new chapter in his campaign, with the hope that maturity may eventually carry him to 2000 meters, the distance of the Campeonato Palermo de Oro.

The setup promises some speed, and jockey Martín Valle will need to manage the tempo carefully, avoiding an early duel and knowing that the stretch run will be decisive.

The likely favorite will meet two seasoned veterans in Super Inter (Super Saver) and Comando Secreto (War Command), both 7-year-olds still trying to remain competitive at the top level.

Super Inter comes off back-to-back runner-up finishes behind El Emporio (Il Campione) in the Carlos Gardel (L) and Irineo Leguisamo (L), while Comando Secreto—hero of the Gran Premio Palermo a couple of seasons ago—was seventh in the 2025 edition of that race in an uninspired effort.
