The top sprinters of the moment—barring the absence of Naranccello—will be at San Isidro on Saturday the 27th

Much like the mile, the sprint division is another category that consistently generates high-flying spectacles on Argentine tracks. Hence, the very best can be expected ahead of the Gran Premio Estrellas Sprint (G1-1000m, turf), which will be another major attraction on the Saturday, June 27 card at Hipódromo de San Isidro.

The most significant aspect will be seeing three-time champion Labrado (Le Blues), Le Cornette (Emmanuel)—the division's current king—and El Epecuén (Il Campione) (photo) back in action together, ready to give it their all down the straight and provide the public with a true show.

Labrado will seek an unprecedented fourth Estrellas crown for his record, having captured this very race in 2023 and 2024, and winning the Junior Sprint (G1) in 2022 when his name was first rising to fame. Le Cornette, meanwhile, will carry the tag of defending champion after prevailing 12 months ago at Palermo.

For his part, El Epecuén is coming off a victory over both rivals when they locked horns in the Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G1), having already managed to defeat Le Cornette in the 2025 Gran Premio Maipú (G1).

The mares A La Vista (Angiolo), Forever You (Full Mast), La Mykonos (Mask), and Pilar (Can the Man) are also part of the 16-horse entry list, which is completed by: Amor del Bueno (Angiolo), Claro Key (Claro Oscuro), El Madrugador (Il Campione), Hiran (Santillano), Land of Promise (Le Blues), Lindo Tono Pass (Distinctiv Passion), Martinique (Señor Candy), Santo Federal (Santillano), and Tiffony Mo (El Moisés).

The latter and El Epecuén must pay the supplementary fee to guarantee their spots, which would increase the total purse. For now, the prize money to be distributed amounts to 48,000,000 pesos, with $30,000,000 to the winner, $9,000,000 to second, $4,800,000 to third, $2,400,000 to fourth, and $1,800,000 to fifth.

Declarations will be taken until noon next Monday, and the post-position draw will take place on Tuesday alongside the other events.
