The surface and track configuration proved irrelevant for the Bodemeister colt, the newest winner of the Jockey Club de Venezuela (L)

LA PLATA.- El Gazpacho is a horse of remarkable quality. Adaptable to any surface and effective across any track layout, he is sound and consistent. This Thursday at this city’s racetrack, he confirmed that his tenacity in a finish is yet another elite trait in his profile.
Ridden perfectly by jockey Kevin Banegas, the son of Bodemeister secured his fourth stakes victory and third at the Listed level in the Clásico Jockey Club de Venezuela. Contested over 1400 meters on a fast track, the favorite had to fight off a valiant Colour Vision (Univisión) to justify the public's support.
The early stages saw Indy Pro (Indy Point) set a blistering pace, opening up several lengths with fractions of :23.02 and :45.41. The effort proved too much, and by the middle of the turn, the leader faded toward the rear of the field.
From the 300-meter mark to the wire, it was a head-to-head duel between El Gazpacho and Colour Vision, with the former prevailing by a neck at the finish. Bombay Lake (Anjiz Lake) finished third, a length back, in a final time of 1:22.79.
Bred by Haras La Pasión and trained at San Isidro by Nicolás Martín Ferro for Stud La Frontera, El Gazpacho now boasts seven career wins from 29 starts, with earnings of $57,006,570 pesos. He is out of Gazpacha (Not for Sale), who has also produced stakes-placed runners Garbiñe (Lucullan) and Constitucional (Gouverneur Morris), and is a half-sister to G2 winner and sire Galán de Cine (Successful Appeal).
