Last Winner of the Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G1), Returns to Palermo Seeking Another Stakes Victory

The Saturday feature lineup at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo will be capped by the Clásico Revista Palermo, run over 1200 meters on the dirt, and it will mark the return to the main track of El Mejor Recuerdo, none other than the most recent winner of the GI Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Back over his preferred distance, the Il Campione colt comes off a strong prep run in the Clásico Intendente Ciudad de Rosario – Dr. Pablo Javkin, and now aims to capitalize on his vast experience under weight-for-age conditions.
Several capable rivals will try to test the Rosario-bred sprinter’s class, led by Approval Cat (Endorsement), who steps into stakes company after a comfortable four-length victory in the Handicap Domingo Elías Pascual, where he dominated El Gazpacho (Bodemeister) in a field packed with talent.
Also in sharp form is Mario’s Rim (Remote), runner-up just ten days ago to El Ernesto (Señor Candy) in the Clásico Orange (L) at San Isidro, confirming the progress he had hinted at in earlier efforts.
One cannot overlook the symbolic presence of Despacito (Sabayón), the Pampean warrior with 15 career wins, who will try to bounce back after a few below-par outings. The veteran will be making his third appearance in this race, which he won in 2023.
Pripioca Mío (Lucky Island) and Qué Onda Wey (Emmanuel) complete a compact but competitive field that promises another exciting sprint on the Palermo dirt—where El Mejor Recuerdo will once again seek to prove he remains the specialist to beat over 1200 meters.
