Half-Year Breeders’ Rankings Show Tighter Race, With El Paraiso Leading but Firmamento and La Pasion in Close Pursuit; El Alfalfar, Gran Muñeca, and Rodeo Chico Also Shine in Key Categories

With the first half of the racing season completed in Argentina, the breeders’ rankings published by Stud Book Argentino reveal a far more competitive landscape than in recent years, setting the stage for what could be a thrilling finish to 2025.
Haras El Paraíso continues to hold its spot atop most key categories but Haras Firmamento is keeping the pressure on with an excellent campaign so far. El Paraíso leads the earnings list with AR$1,129,487,739, while Firmamento sits second with AR$963,604,466, well within striking distance as the season's richest races approach.
Haras La Pasión holds third place with AR$729,738,621, followed by a more distant Abolengo (AR$489,391,946) and Vacación (AR$458,469,369), though the latter two operate with roughly half as many active runners as the frontrunner.
Measured by wins, El Paraíso again leads with 147 victories, chased by Firmamento on 126 and La Pasión on 106. Abolengo (66) and Vacación (58) complete the top five.
The pattern holds for winners produced: El Paraíso boasts 118 individual winners, Firmamento 94, La Pasión 77, with Abolengo (55) and Vacación (49) rounding out the group.
When considering winning percentage among farms with 50 or more runners, El Alfalfar shines brightest with an impressive 46%, trailed by Rodeo Chico (43.1%), El Turf (42.9%), Masama (40.6%), and Gran Muñeca (38.8%).
In black-type success, Firmamento leads with 20 stakes wins, ahead of El Paraíso (16), Gran Muñeca (9), El Alfalfar (6), and a quartet featuring El Mallín, Triple Alliance, Santa Inés, and La Pasión (each with 5).
Finally, in the G1 column, El Paraíso edged ahead thanks to El Exito (Il Campione) taking Saturday’s Estrellas Mile, bringing its tally to 3 G1 wins, one clear of El Wing, Triple Alliance, La Generación, and Firmamento.
The stage is set for a closely contested second half of 2025, with Argentina’s leading breeders poised to battle for supremacy across all fronts.
