The sprinter stretches out to the 1400 meters of the Jockey Club Argentino; the miler goes for the Jockey Club de Corrientes

LA PLATA.- A powerful meeting this Sunday at the racetrack of this city, with two stakes races on the card and the names of El Resero Con Capa (Angiolo) and Storm Sound (Hi Happy) as the flagships of the event.
The best sprinter in the city of diagonals will try to ratify that status in the 1400 meters of the Clásico Jockey Club Argentino (L), stretching out somewhat in distance; meanwhile, the local leader in the middle-distance ranks will go for the Clásico Jockey Club de Corrientes (1600 m), following his unfortunate run in the Gran Premio Pedro Piñeyrúa(G2) at Maroñas, in Uruguay.
There are already records of both shining on the same day, as on last November 19, El Resero Con Capa won the Clásico Ciudad de La Plata (G2), and Storm Sound prevailed in the Clásico Joaquín V. González (G2). Now, they could share the glory once again, just minutes apart.
A fresh winner by 9 lengths in the Clásico Emilio Casares (L), El Resero Con Capa faces Campo Verde (Strategos), who gained notoriety in 2025 by winning the Estrellas Junior Sprint (G3) and is coming off a positive first step here, albeit in a conditional race.
Storm Sound seems to have a tougher task, with several dangerous opponents, such as Sabiyano (Fortify), who returns to the track where he conquered the Clásico 9 de Julio - Día de la Independencia (G3) and the Clásico General José de San Martín (G3) last season, after finding victory again in the Handicap Condal on the San Isidro dirt.
Also in the starting gates will be Yak Sport (Glory Seattle), coming off a third-place finish just over 2 lengths behind the colt Sargento Morris (Gouverneur Morris) in the Clásico Haras Ojo de Agua (L); El Gazpacho (Bodemeister), fifth in the Fortunato Novara (G3) but winner of the Orange (L) back in late October; El Ernesto (Señor Candy), who was recently disqualified from second to fifth place in the aforementioned Novara; and Notable Island (Lizard Island), runner-up to Talento Emergente (Equal Talent) in the Especial Haras Firmamento.
