The return of El Resero Con Capa to his home track could not have been more spectacular. After a stumble on the San Isidro turf in the Gran Premio Félix de Alzaga Unzué (G1), the Stud-Haras Tres Jotas homebred put on a show this Sunday, coasting to victory in the Clásico Emilio Casares (L-1200m, dirt) and reaffirming his status as the leader of the sprinting division on the turn.

It was little more than a paid workout for the son of Angiolo, who was the heavy favorite on the board, returning a meager $1.70 to his supporters. With Adrián Giannetti in the irons, the bay closely tracked the early pace set by El Sparring (Mask), overtook the leader midway through the turn, and effectively put the race away from there.

He entered the stretch with a couple of lengths' advantage and easily dismissed the challenge from Encantador Pass (Distinctiv Passion). Maintaining a steady stride without ever being fully extended, El Resero Con Capa cruised to the wire to defeat that rival by 9 lengths. Vendaval Joy (Roman Joy) finished third, another 2 1/2 lengths back, all in a sharp final time of 1:10.21 after opening fractions of :24.11 and :47.30. Felipe Arone saddled the winner for trainer Arnaldo Vigil, who was recently suspended following a medication violation.

For the striking Tres Jotas colt, it was his fourth victory in eight starts, maintaining his undefeated record over 1200 meters, undoubtedly his preferred distance. This marked his third stakes victory, adding to his scores in the Domingo Torterolo at Palermo in July and the Clásico Ciudad de La Plata (G2) last November.

Out of Marlotte (El Corredor), El Resero Con Capa is a full brother to G1 winner Madonna Benois and multiple G2winner Mery Laurent. He is also a half-brother to Qué Tarde Gris (Il Campione), winner of the Clásico 9 de Julio (G2), all hailing from the family of Souriante (Lyphmas), a foundation mare for Haras Tres Jotas.
