The son of Angiolo will face tough rivals, such as Valdobbio, returning after a long layoff, and the fillies Calle de Tierraand Let Me Dance

LA PLATA.– The always entertaining turn-sprinting division will take a significant step this Sunday at the racecourse of this city by means of a new version of the Clásico General Manuel Belgrano (G2), with a 1,200-meter journey on the dirt and open to all horses 3 years old and up.

It is time for El Resero Con Capa to put his title on the line as the current best in the segment, following a pair of victories that helped him regain confidence after unsatisfactory attempts over longer distances.

The latest winner of the Clásico Ciudad de La Plata (G2) is coming off victories in the Clásico Julio Corte (L) and the Clásico Asociación Bonaerense de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera (G3), the former achieved with remarkable dominance and, in the latter, having to exert himself a bit more due to a race shape where he fought on the front end.

With Adrián Giannetti in his reins, the son of Angiolo will welcome back Valdobbio (Hit It a Bomb), who returns after 181 days of inactivity with every intention of making up for lost time. One of the most prominent sprinters of 2025, he said goodbye by dismissing Es Aristocrático (Angiolo) by no less than 7 lengths in the Clásico Uberto F. Vignart (G3), making his level crystal clear.

A pair of tough fillies cross paths with the aforementioned contenders. One of them will be Calle de Tierra (Strategos), whose short-distance skills are well known to all, already boasting several stakes victories and putting behind a three-and-a-half-month layoff following a subpar performance in the Clásico Arturo A. Bullrich (G3); the other will be Let Me Dance (Le Blues), who counts 4 victories from 5 starts and a fresh Palermo conquest that sparks massive enthusiasm.

A short while earlier, the card at La Plata will feature the first of its two stakes events with the Especial Velocistas - Potrancas (1,000 m, dirt), featuring the presence of Les Tiró La Recta (Qué Vida Buena), already a two-time winner, her most recent success coming by 5 lengths.

She will be put to the test by Pasión del Alma Pass (Distinctiv Passion) and Amiguita Casual (Todo Un Amiguito).
