The sprinters will take center stage Sunday at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, where a competitive renewal of the Clásico República de Panamá (G3, 1000m, dirt) promises a thrilling highlight to the day’s card.

With division leader Lagoa Azul (Lenovo) currently on the sidelines, the door appears wide open for Eleven Mile (Il Campione) to notch the most significant victory of her career, following a strong performance in the Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G1) on May 1.

Representing Stud Los del Vallenses and trained by Mario Villamarín, the dark bay was a respectable fourth that day, finishing five lengths behind El Mejor Recuerdo (Il Mercato), Lagoa Azul, and three-time sprint champion Labrado (Le Blues), proving she can hold her own at the highest level when on her game.

A solid group of rivals will stand in her way, led by the consistent Kiriel (Catcher In the Rye), who captured the Clásico México (G3) earlier this year. Though she underperformed in the Handicap Laramie Trail against males, finishing sixth, her earlier placings in the Clásico General Güemes (G3) and Clásico General Alvear (L) keep her firmly in contention.

Promising filly Flamboyance Rim (Remote) brings winning momentum after taking her third consecutive race and makes her stakes debut in peak form. Initially campaigned over longer distances, she now cuts back to the straight course and could prove dangerous with the right setup.

Fresh off a score in the Clásico Diego M. Argüello at La Plata, Bayonne (Puerto Escondido) makes her first start under these conditions but has shown enough to command respect.

Also not to be overlooked is Reina Richard (Emperor Richard), who rides a three-race win streak, while Louisiana Lady (Manipulator), La Asturian Blue (Le Blues), Beau Breeze (AP Candy), and Melancólica Pass (Distinctiv Passion) are longer shots, yet all capable of earning a share of the purse with their best.
