LIMA, Perú (Special for Turf Diario).- The Argentine current in Peruvian racing made a strong statement again last weekend at Hipódromo de Monterrico, where Stud Jet Set and Haras Santa Inés enjoyed a double classic celebration, reinforcing a period of sustained excellence.

The first to strike was Eliitas, the 7-year-old Catcher In The Rye–Nanga Parbat (Majestic Warrior) colt, who led gate to wire in the Clásico Enrique Martinelli Tizón (L) over 1600 meters on dirt. Under a flawless ride from Húber Bocanegra and expertly prepared by Juan Suárez, the chestnut confirmed his enduring class, notching his 14th career win from 26 starts and increasing earnings to S/223,401.

Favorite Santuario (Yoshida) settled for second, 1 ¾ lengths behind, while Iniziamo (Blofeld) completed the order at 18 lengths.

Later on the card, over 1300 meters on turf, Gaza Strip, a 5-year-old Hi Happy–Gaza Moon (Easing Along) filly also bred at Santa Inés, delivered the second classic for the Jet Set silks, taking the Clásico Augusto N. Wiese under José Reyes. Trained by Suárez, the filly recorded her eighth career win from 31 starts, pushing earnings to S/75,109.

Stablemate Marcelito El Grande (Suggestive Boy) was second, 1 ¼ lengths back, followed by Canoso (Fed Biz) and Sabelotodo (Air America). Fractions were 23.84, 48.39, and 1:13.43, with a final time of 1:19.29.

With these two new triumphs, Argentine-bred talent continues to make a major impact in Peru, with Stud Jet Setasserting itself as one of the leading forces in the Lima racing scene.
