The Stud Par de Ases mare held off Bichita de Luz by a neck to capture the Clásico Día de la Soberanía Nacional

The consistency and generosity that define Emely earned her another well-deserved reward on an unusual Tuesday program at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, on the eve of Wednesday’s renewal of the G1 Gran Premio Dardo Rocha at La Plata.
Sent off as the clear public choice under weight-for-age conditions, the Il Campione filly made the most of the setup, going front-running every step of the way to secure the Clásico Día de la Soberanía Nacional over 1200 meters on the main dirt track.
With Daniel E. Arias aboard for the first time, the Stud Par de Ases colorbearer wasted no time taking command, sticking firmly to the tactic that has always brought out her best. Allowed to dictate a comfortable tempo through the opening stages, she secured the advantage that would prove decisive.
Sensing the danger, Emiliano Siniani moved early aboard the grey Bichita de Luz (Fragotero), trying to keep the leader honest. In the stretch, Bichita de Luz repeatedly tried to reel her in, cutting into the margin late, but Emely refused to yield.
At the wire, the winner held on by a neck, stopping the clock in a sharp 1:10.79, after fractions of :24.56 and :47.14.Two lengths back, Look Happy (Hi Happy) checked in third, with Mi Negra Paula (Reflecting) and City Land (Lizard Island) completing the order.
Bred by Haras El Paraíso and trained by Bruno Pasqualini, Emely now owns five wins from 11 starts, including two at the stakes level—having previously captured the Handicap Carapálida—and she has surpassed 32 million pesos in earnings.
She is the fourth and only winning foal out of Rude Girl (Bahiaro), a half-sister to the talented Travelwell (True Cause) and part of the extraordinary Forli (Aristophanes) female family that traces back to the legendary Haras Ojo de Agua.
