Caught Jalimba and Mi Negra Paula Right on the Wire to Earn Her Best Career Win Tuesday at La Plata

LA PLATA, Argentina – It was a case of “he who laughs last, laughs best” Tuesday at the Hipódromo de La Plata, where Emma Linda came charging up the rail in the final strides to snatch victory in the Especial Illegally Blonde (1400 meters, wet dirt).
As Jalimba (Señor Candy, 56 kg) and Mi Negra Paula (Reflecting, 56) battled head-to-head through the stretch, the filly from Palermo surged with perfect timing along the inside, grabbing the lead in the last jump to earn the best win of her career.
It was a thrilling, heart-pounding finish—the kind that makes racing fans hold their breath—offering three contenders to root for and a reminder of the electric emotion that defines this sport.
Queen Longines (Long Island Sound, 56) set the early pace, tracked closely by Jalimba, who took command midway around the turn. But when the field hit the straight, Mi Negra Paula quickly loomed to challenge. Just as the duel seemed decided between the pair, Emma Linda, the daughter of Emmanuel and Original Girl (Star Dabbler), rallied strongly along the fence to get up right on the wire.
She prevailed by half a head over Jalimba, with Mi Negra Paula another head back in third, while Storm Revenge(Storm Mayor, 54) finished a distant fourth, six lengths adrift. The final time was 1:24.28.
Emiliano Siniani guided the winner for trainer Roberto Caroprese and the Stud Adriancito silks.
