The Cosmic Trigger filly extended the remarkable top-level streak of her trainer, Nicolás Martín Ferro, and scored by five lengths

LA PLATA.- Nicolás Martín Ferro is dreaming that the magical streak he’s enjoying at the top level can stretch a little further—and that it might even cross borders—looking ahead to this Saturday’s 41st Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1) at Gávea, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he will present the outstanding Vundu (Suggestive Boy).
Meanwhile, capitalizing on this remarkable run, beyond the usual consistency of his winners, the trainer added another trophy to his collection. On Thursday, at his local track, Emprestada was unstoppable, cruising to victory in the Clásico Eusonio C. Boni (L) over 1100 meters on standard dirt.
Making her local debut and her first start at black-type level, the Cosmic Trigger filly settled into the race, gradually picking up momentum, and ultimately asserted herself decisively—a feat all the more impressive considering Calle de Tierra (Strategos) was among her rivals.
The winner displayed her full power, while the favorite endured a difficult trip, forced to race along the inside and jostled throughout, ultimately finishing a distant sixth—by far the worst performance of her career.
With Kevin Banegas aboard, Emprestada broke in mid-pack but quickly advanced to sit third behind the pacesetter Estrella Guía (Il Campione) and a struggling Calle de Tierra.
Entering the stretch, the leader tried to hold on, but Emprestada launched her bid on the outside, taking command in two strides and steadily pulling away with little resistance. At the wire, she had a five-length advantage over Tranquila Señora (Fortify), with Estrella Guía in third by a head and Starry Bomb (Hit It a Bomb) fourth by half a length, completing the 1100 meters in 1:05.18.
Bred by Haras Abolengo and racing for Stud Laredo, Emprestada continues to thrive in sprinting company, a division in which she appears to have truly found her place in the world.
