LA PLATA.— End of Spring delivered the response Juan Cruz Villagra was expecting and scored a solid victory in the Clásico Manuel F. y Emilio Gnecco (G3), confirming her upward trajectory and beginning to turn the high expectations she has always generated among her connections into major results.

“The mare won very well. The other day I rushed a bit myself, letting her take the lead a little early, and maybe that's why she flattened out late. This time La Chaperona went out to set the pace and she settled comfortably. Around the 600-meter mark I decided to make my move, and after that she won very well,” explained Villagra, pleased with both his mount's response and the way he was able to map out the race.

The lessons learned from that previous start proved vital. The jockey took note, rationed End of Spring’s energy more effectively, and waited until reaching the decisive stretch to ask for the effort. But now she is settling in, showing what we knew she was capable of, winning big races, and that makes us all very happy,” the jockey noted.
