End of Spring Extends Her Love Affair with La Plata's track

LA PLATA.— End of Spring certainly feels right at home on the local strip. She reaffirmed that affinity on Tuesday, preserving her perfect record at the venue with a victory in the Clásico Otelo A. Orlandi (L), the feature race of the day contested over a mile on a fast dirt track.
As anticipated, the visiting contingent proved far superior. In a three-way battle to the wire, the daughter of Il Campioneproved strongest, defeating the favored Blessed Shine (Honour Devil) by one length, with Guadilu (Señor Candy) finishing a neck back in third.
Guided by Juan Cruz Villagra, the Triple Alliance homebred showed patience during the opening stages, as Blessed Shine took advantage of her inside draw to set the pace under pressure from the Brazilian-bred Upends (Imperatore).
However, before reaching the end of the backstretch, End of Spring began to apply pressure from the outside and gradually took command of the running. From that point on, the winner refused to yield. Despite Blessed Shine’s gritty bid to battle back along the inside and Guadilu's closing run down the center of the track, End of Spring kept them at bay to seal the victory in an impressive time of 1:37.12.
Trained by Guillermo Frenkel Santillán at San Isidro's Campo 2, End of Spring has now captured six victories from 17 lifetime starts, marking her second stakes success at La Plata following her victory in the Clásico Miss Loren back in April.
End of Spring figures to be a highly valuable future producer for Triple Alliance. She is a half-sister to the dual champion Charm (Strategos) and a full sister to the Grade 2-placed Emergent, who captured both the Silfo and Ultrasonido handicaps.
