End of Spring returns to La Plata with the Clásico Manuel F. y Emilio Gnecco as her main target

The daughter of Il Campione remains undefeated over that track and is set to clash once again with the experienced Guadilú
LA PLATA.— Outside its original slot, the Clásico Manuel F. y Emilio Gnecco (G3-1,600 m, dirt) will serve as the centerpiece of Thursday's card at the local track. Restricted to fillies and mares 4 years old and up, the race was rescheduled after being canceled a few weeks ago, a rare occurrence given its graded status and distance.
The scenario appears ideal for End of Spring to build on her rising momentum while preserving her flawless record at El Bosque, where she has emerged victorious in both of her career starts.
The daughter of Il Campione was last seen in mid-July capturing the Clásico Otelo A. Orlandi (L) at this venue, scoring by a length over the talented Blessed Shine (Honour Devil), who later went on to secure a graded victory at Palermo. Prior to that, the contender had claimed the Clásico Miss Loren. The Triple Alliance homebred, trained by Guillermo Frenkel Santillán out of Campo 2 in San Isidro, crosses paths once again with a familiar rival in the remarkably consistent Guadilú (Señor Candy).
In the aforementioned Orlandi, Guadilú finished third behind End of Spring, trailing by just 1 1/4 lengths. Coming off a runner-up effort in the Handicap Cote D'Or, her racing record includes victories in the Handicap Wally, the Handicap Jerry Honor, and the Especial Haras La Biznaga, alongside a series of strong black-type placings.
A third major contender comes in the form of Mestasa (Il Mercato), who enters on a sharp winning streak, having finished first in four of her last five outings—including three consecutive wins. However, in a detail that carries significant weight, all those efforts came within the alternative category. The level of competition takes a major step up here, and it remains to be seen how she handles the jump in class.
Breaking from the outermost stall will be Red Chilly (Il Mercato), who looked poised to hit top form after taking the Especial Haras Vacación. Since then, however, things have proved uphill for the Lucy y Carol representative. Whether she can rebound remains an open question.
La Chaperona (Furious Key), Melan Song (Malenchini), and Hi Crystal (Hi Happy) round out a compact field, but one that promises to deliver a compelling contest.
