The colt and the filly will seek to be stars at the start of the select process for 2-year-olds on the dirt at Palermo

This Sunday, Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo will take its first steps within the select process for products born in 2023 with the Guillermo Kemmis (G3) and Carlos Casares (G3) classics, both over the sand kilometer.
In a complicated moment for national racing—with betting levels that remain stagnant, generally weak purses, and the uncertainty already generated by the upcoming sales season—it is concerning that only 4 colts have been confirmed for the first of those races. Among the fillies, out of 6 participants, there are 2 non-winners and one debutante.
While it is true that these types of races rarely gather giant fields and there is always more than one hope of pulling an upset, there is a substantial drop in the number of horses entered and in the total number of races being held.
After winning the Congreve (L) on the San Isidro turf, Enter the Club (The Great Day) returns to the track of his winning debut with the aspiration of maintaining his undefeated status. The son of The Great Day gives a rematch to Lebron Blues (Le Blues), whom he defeated by a neck in the first black-type of the generation. He will also face Aspiring Artist (Angiolo) and Chichipio (Angiolo), both winners in their respective debuts.
In the Casares, Stud-Haras Gran Muñeca will try to make headlines again with Principesca Bella (Made You Look), who was notable in her initial showing, prevailing by 6 lengths in 55s35/100. Switching from turf to sand will be a challenge to overcome.
Her paternal sister, Mayan Goddess, was third against the males in the Congreve but seemed to perform slightly below expectations; the intention is to return to the winning path while also changing surfaces. Meanwhile, Se Cruzan(Manipulator) won on his debut here, which remains a distinct advantage.
