Just like The Great Cash in 2025, another son of the Firmamento horse claimed the first stakes challenge of the generation

The class of 2023 now has its first standout name. It is Enter the Club, the colt who maintained his undefeated record this Friday by winning the Clásico Congreve (L) over 1,000 meters on the turf at San Isidro.

Following a solid debut on the dirt at Palermo, the change of surface was no issue for the La Plata-based runner, who also showed the class necessary to defeat betting favorite Lebron Blues (Le Blues) by a neck. Meanwhile, the filly Mayan Goddess (Made You Look) finished third, two lengths back, performing slightly below expectations.

Presented by Duvilio Pierro (Angel Piana is his trainer), the bay representing Stud Dóctor S was in a battle virtually from the jump with the runner-up, managing to tip the scales in his favor in the final stages. This was despite racing along the inside rail, an area seldom used in straightaway races at the northern track.

As for Mayan Goddess, she appeared unpolished this time, changing leads repeatedly. The rest of the field finished far behind, showing very little in a race timed at 54.90 seconds over a surface that was firm as cement.

Bred by Haras Las Retamas, Enter the Club was expertly guided by Franco Menéndez. He is the best foal to date out of the mare Espléndida Halo (Southern Halo), who is a full sister to champion Halo Ola, the outstanding stallion Sebi Halo, and Snapy Halo—all of them Grade 1 winners.

The colt provides a curious statistic: he is sired by The Great Day (Harlan's Holiday), who thus remains undefeated in the Congreve, a race he also won in 2025 with The Great Cash. For the Haras Firmamento stallion, now with two crops on the track, it was a fruitful afternoon as he also enjoyed another victory with the perfect debut of The Great Terms.

The generation born in 2023 had its first stakes challenge this Friday, marking the beginning of a long road that often wears down those who appear early—with few exceptions. Will Enter the Club be able to overcome the challenge? Only time will tell.
