A solid racing program is set for Saturday at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, marking the only meeting of the weekend after authorities canceled Sunday's scheduled card at Hipódromo de La Plata.

A large crowd is expected at Avenida del Libertador y Dorrego, where, in addition to the races, the Carne! 2025 festival will be taking place, transforming much of the Tribuna Paddock parking lot into a haven for food lovers.

The featured event, the Clásico Expressive Halo (L-2200m, turf), was on the brink of cancellation after drawing just two initial entries. However, a last-minute reopening added two more runners, and fortunately, officials opted to keep the race on the schedule.

That decision works perfectly in favor of G1 winner Epityrum (Portal del Alto), who looks well-placed to capitalize on his class and return to the winner’s circle. Trained by Nicolás Martín Ferro, the talented runner was last seen finishing fourth, five lengths behind Grezzo (Hi Happy) in the Gran Premio Miguel A. Martínez de Hoz (G1). One of his current rivals, El Cid Campeador (Il Campione), was also in that race but faded to the back of the field.

His main challenger appears to be Speedy Endor (Endorsement), who debuts for Stud Cerrillos de Salta under the care of Roberto Gutiérrez. A recent runner-up to Paraná Miní (Winning Prize) in the Clásico Jockey Club de Corrientes at La Plata, he faces two key tests—stretching out to his longest distance yet and making his first start on turf.

The lineup is completed by Hueihue (Daddy Long Legs), stepping up from conditioned company.
