Cósmico, consigned by Haras El Chañar, topped the group of 2024 yearlings offered this Thursday at the San Isidro Tattersall

Yearlings from Haras El Chañar dominated the Copa Bullrich Abril Sale on Thursday, with the farm securing the two highest prices of the afternoon. Held at the San Isidro Tattersall under a hybrid format organized by Antonio Bullrich SA, the auction saw spirited bidding for a select group of 2024-born products.
Topping the session was Cósmico, a standout colt from the final crop of the legendary Equal Stripes (Candy Stripes). A three-time Argentine Stallion of the Year and sire of over 70 stakes winners, Equal Stripes continues to be the ultimate reference for those seeking classic success. The bay, out of La Acuariana (Wild Event)—already the dam of stakes-performer Hale Bopp—was knocked down to Germán Fisher, acting on commission, for $80,000. The colt hails from a high-quality family that includes G1 winners George Washington and Bonaparte.
El Chañar also provided the second top-seller in Pícaro, a son of the reliable Hi Happy (Pure Prize). The stout black colt is a half-brother to Argentine Derby (G1) winner Niño Guapo and was purchased by trainer Alfredo Gaitán Dassié, in commission, for $60,000.
Completing the top three was Presidente Joy (Fortify), consigned by Haras El Arroyo and sold for $53,000 to Tomás Fernández Llanos for the powerhouse Stud Las Monjitas. He is the first foal out of Pine Seeds, a half-sister to G2 winner Rudy Trigger. The sale closed with a total handle of $987,000, averaging $18,623. The Argentine auction calendar continues this Sunday with the Haras Vacación Broodmare Sale, which will be held exclusively online.
