The Pair Were Separated by a Neck Last Time, but Weight Now Appears to Favor the Runner-Up

LA PLATA.- Another Saturday of racing arrives at La Plata, and once again the program lacks depth, leaving the Especial Frío Wells(1400m, 4yo & up, winners of 3 or more) as the feature on an otherwise modest afternoon.

Over this same track and trip, Es Aristocrático (Angiolo) recently returned to winning ways in the Especial La Plata Capital, edging Aroma Rim (Remote) by just a neck—an outcome that sets up a compelling rematch here. The weight conditions, however, could shift the balance: Es Aristocrático now carries 56kg, while Aroma Rim drops to 52kg, a 4-kilo swing that might well prove decisive.

Adding further intrigue is Paraná Miní (Winning Prize, 58), a hard-knocking frontrunner from Stud Pancho.R.X.. Though he exits a disappointing effort in the Clásico República Federativa do Brasil (G3) over a mile on Palermo’s turf, his back class is undeniable, with five prior stakes wins to his credit.

Señor Dan (Señor Candy, 58) also commands respect. Returning to a more suitable trip, he looks to rebound from his run in the Clásico 9 de Julio – Día de la Independencia (G3), where he was beaten less than five lengths by Sabiyano (Fortify). Alongside Paraná Miní, he shoulders top weight, a factor that cannot be overlooked.

Meanwhile, Arcanum (Horse Greeley, 54) is tough to gauge. His form has tailed off, but his record shows flashes of high class, including a victory in the Clásico Asociación Bonaerense de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera (G3) and a narrow runner-up finish to Le Massif (Le Ken) in the Clásico Julio Corte (L).

A notch below appear Sacripante (Southern Cat, 56) and Buen Curuzucuateño (Buen Verso, 54), both of whom would need significant improvement to contend.

The stage is set for another tight battle at La Plata, with Es Aristocrático and Aroma Rim renewing their rivalry under intriguing weight conditions, and seasoned campaigners Paraná Miní and Señor Dan poised to add further pressure.
