LA PLATA.- Ahead of the Christmas break—and a brief pause in activity—the Hipódromo de La Plata will stage a high-class feature this Tuesday with the Clásico Uberto F. Vignart (G3, 1200m, dirt), one of the venue’s most important speed clashes of the season.

With El Resero Con Capa (Angiolo)—winner of the G2 Clásico Ciudad de La Plata and a recent G1 Félix de Alzaga Unzué participant at San Isidro—absent, the stage appears set for Es Aristocrático to return to winning ways.

The distance record-holder comes off a narrow defeat to the Tres Jotas colt on Nov. 19 and will once again lean on his trademark late kick. This time, however, he faces a smaller field than on that occasion, one that should allow him to stick to his preferred tactics.

Trained by Marcelo Sueldo and set to be presented by Juan Pablo E. Díaz, Es Aristocrático is the defending champion of this race. Twelve months ago, he accounted for the gray Pan y Circo (Qué Vida Buena) to announce his arrival among the elite of the sprint division.

Carrying the colors of Stud Pauli, Es Aristocrático will be joined by a formidable stablemate in Encantador Pass(Distinctiv Passion). The colt has suffered just one defeat at La Plata and already boasts Listed victories in the Jockey Club de Azul and the Benito Lynch, the latter in his most recent start.

A pair of dangerous three-year-olds also add spice to the mix. Antiguo Secreto (Angiolo), trained by Gastón Sessa, looks to rebound from a misstep in the G1 Gran Premio Maipú, aiming to recapture the form that saw him win the Listed Guillermo Paats at Palermo. Meanwhile, Valdobbio (Hit It a Bomb) seeks to turn the tables after consecutive defeats to Encantador Pass, having previously scored decisively by 2 1/2 lengths over Garboso Frank (Gidu) in the Listed José M. Boquín.

Veteran Oro Azteca (Empire Aztec), along with Emm Yugo (Emmanuel) and Beat Me (Cosmic Trigger), further deepen a lineup that promises quality and competitiveness—an apt finale to La Plata’s calendar before the holiday break.
