Unstoppable, he comes off a record-breaking performance at 1200 meters and now aims to secure a defining, career-making victory

LA PLATA.— The traditional G2 Clásico Ciudad de La Plata (1200m, dirt) is typically one of the trickiest races on Dardo Rocha (G1) day—tight, competitive, and shaped by complex race dynamics. But this year, the headline act towers above the rest.
Es Aristocrático has emerged as an imposing force, virtually untouchable in the local sprinting ranks. The Angiolo colt from Stud Pauli brings a five-race winning streak at this track and trip—successes across different categories that have elevated him to another tier within the division.
Stakes or allowance, weight-for-age or carrying a mountain of kilos, the outcome has been identical: he wins. Most recently, just 17 days ago, he captured the Especial Flag Nine in a record-breaking 1:09.27 for 1200 meters—while toting 62 kilos.
For Es Aristocrático, the greatest danger may be the race shape. Drawn post 2, he will need luck to avoid traffic given his off-the-pace running style. If he finds room to unleash his run, expect a powerful stretch rally as he attempts to confirm himself as La Plata’s top sprinter.
A specialist at the trip, Rugiente (Il Campione) regained confidence with back-to-back wins in the Handicap Mesa Alvear and Handicap Rubén Emilio Laitán, at San Isidro and Palermo respectively. A horse who likes to be involved early, he is not to be overlooked.
El Resero Con Capa (Angiolo) will race at La Plata for the first time. His bold tilt at the G1 Polla de Potrillos ended without a placing, and he was later defeated by El Fortín (Il Campione) in a northern allowance—the same rival who just landed the Handicap Ringaro.
Among those capable of springing an upset are Emmspacial Boy (Emmanuel), Huracán Risk (Security Risk), Earth and Fire (Cosmic Trigger), and Lo Dejo Todo (Le Blues).
