LA PLATA.— The Clásico Polla de Potrancas (G2) will not be the only feature race above standard level held this Tuesday at the local track. A short while later, horses aged 5 and up with a minimum of three wins will take center stage in the Especial Cóndor Cal, contested over 1,400 meters.
The event honoring the last Triple Crown winner at La Plata features several strong names among its field of 10 confirmed runners, including Escape Room (Il Campione, 56), who comes off an effortless victory in the Handicap Haras La Providencia over 1,200 meters.
Previously runner-up behind Drive Joy (Fortify) in the Gran Premio de las Américas - OSAF (G1), the representative of Stud Pauli will count the talented Super Number (Super Saver, 56) among his rivals—a horse whose career has frequently been hampered by injuries.
Winner on this track of the Clásico Pedro Goenaga (G2), Clásico Polla de Potrillos (G3), and Clásico 9 de Julio - Día de la Independencia (G3), he recently returned from a layoff to finish third in a allowance race at San Isidro, tuning up his form to now dream of a return to the winner's circle.
The top weight of 60 kilos will be carried by Che Vivi (Manipulator), a runner who always puts on a show and who captured the Handicap Val D'Or in his most recent outing. Another contestant with rich stakes experience is Seek Wave(Seek Again, 58), the top juvenile of his generation at La Plata, who failed to hit his stride at Palermo in his latest effort, though prior to that he had claimed the Handicap Haras Pozo de Luna over this strip...
