What is good, if brief, is twice as good; quality over quantity… Any of those popular sayings fit perfectly for the Clásico Inés Victorica Roca (G3-1600m, dirt), which will complete Monday’s high-class stakes double at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo.

With just five fillies confirmed, the promise of a top-class show is guaranteed thanks to an outstanding cast. Picking a clear favorite isn’t easy, but after thorough study, it seems Escolastic Girl is the one to beat.

The Suggestive Boy filly, homebred by Haras Pozo de Luna, recently made an excellent comeback after running in the Gran Premio Ciudad de Montevideo (G1) at Maroñas in Uruguay. At La Plata, she cruised to a commanding 5-length victory over Catch the Bomb (Hit It a Bomb) in the Clásico Joaquín V. Maqueda (G3), proving she still has further progress ahead.

A dangerous rival will be Ethereum (Portal del Alto), who performed well when third behind now G1 winner Coni Fizz (Marconi) in the Clásico Círculo de Propietarios de Caballerizas SPC (G3) before returning to allowance company to post an authoritative win.

Elvitas (Cosmic Trigger) is a mare that always gives her best, and despite her inconsistencies, she must be respected. She recently defeated South Briole (South Kissing) by a length on San Isidro’s dirt and will once again seek black-type success.

Trainer Miguel Suárez, jockey Juan C. Noriega, and Stud Aladino will be looking to add another graded celebration after scoring with Crazy Talent (Equal Talent) in the Chacabuco (G2) on Saturday, and Maga Zulú (Equal Talent)carries strong credentials with two consecutive wins, most recently by three lengths over Nakayama (Señor Candy).

Finally, there is the tough Garbiñe (Lucullan), who added another allowance victory to two earlier stakes placings…
