Escolastic Girl and Earth God Target Sunday’s Stakes at Palermo

On a card packed with attractions, the mare targets the Ricardo P. Sauze (G3), while the colt looms as the favorite for the República Federativa do Brasil (G3)

There will be hardly a race to miss on Sunday’s card at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, where fillies will square off in a top-class mile clash on dirt in the Clásico Ricardo P. Sauze (G3); colts will contest the same distance but on turf in the Clásico República Federativa do Brasil (G3); and runners with campaigns in the provinces will enjoy the Especial Don Bildo (1400m, dirt) and Especial Ill Diabolo (1000m, dirt).

The Sauze promises to be a tremendous challenge, with Escolastic Girl (Suggestive Boy) seeking to repeat the excellent performance that earned her victory 34 days ago in the Clásico Inés Victorica Roca (G3)Orpen Rimout (Remote) looking to build on her comfortable win in the Handicap GiovanettiInternational Look (Cosmic Trigger) aiming to continue her improvement, as shown by her third to Coni Fizz (Marconi) in the Estrellas Distaff (G1)Noche Alta (Hi Happy) trying to regain her best form; and Maga Zulu (Equal Stripes) and Garbiñe (Lucullan) both seeking revenge on the favorite.

In the BrasilEarth God will try to get back to the winner’s circle after an excellent third, two lengths behind, in the Estrellas Mile (G2) won by El Exito (Il Campione). He will face a deep and experienced field that includes G1 winner Comando Secreto (War Command), Concord (Remote), La Plata-based Paraná Miní (Winning Prize), and What a Man(Mastercraftsman), among others.

In the Especial Don Bildo, confidence will rest on Eccentric (Il Campione), who returns to Palermo after winning one of the heats of the Especial Encuentro Provincial Invierno, although stretching out from 1000 meters to 1400. Meanwhile, in the Especial Ill Diabolo, the undefeated Rey de la Calle (Che Micky) and Good Face (Angiolo) will be challenged by A Suerte y Verdad (Angiolo) and Ferman (Forge).
