LA PLATA.— In recent years, fillies and mares have earned their own spotlight on Dardo Rocha (G1) Day, courtesy of the always-attractive G2 Clásico Marcos Levalle, run over a mile. And the 2025 edition promises every bit of the intrigue and quality the race is known for.

Among the highlights is one of the four returning champions attempting to defend their titles 12 months after their previous triumphs. Just as Treasure Island (Treasure Beach) seeks to repeat in the main event, Unico Happy (Hi Happy) returns for the González (G2), and La Meninha (Le Blues) aims for a double in the Cooperativa de Criadores (L), Escolastic Girl is back to try and recreate her winning scene from last year.

truly outstanding runner, the Haras Pozo de Luna homebred has not lost on Argentine soil since September 2024, stringing together five consecutive stakes wins, with her only blemish coming in Montevideo, where she underperformed in the G1 Ciudad de Montevideo at Maroñas.

Winner this season of the G3 Joaquín V. MaquedaG3 Inés Victorica Roca, and G3 Ricardo P. Sauze, always with commanding authority, the daughter of Suggestive Boy now faces another high-risk group of rivals, as she once again figures to animate the pace from early on.

She may share the van from San Isidro’s Campo 2 with her stablemate Pecadora Joy (Fortify), owned by Firmamento. That filly captured the Handicap Cipayo in August before going to the sidelines, and now reappears ready for action.

With wins in the Clásico Jamelao (L) and the Estrellas Dirt on her résumé, Pecadora Joy heads the powerful team trained by Juan Carlos Bagó, which also includes the unbeaten Cara Romana (The Great Day), dazzling in both of her local appearances to date.

In this arena, Soy La Líder (Manipulator) arrives off her victory in the Clásico Mad Corsaria, while Illa Alegre (Sabat Husson) has produced several notable efforts throughout the season, her latest highlight being her success in the G3 Clásico Hipódromo Independencia de Rosario, run over 2000 meters.

Rounding out the field is Flor de Laurel (Il Campione), a fresh third behind Amonet (Mask) in the Clásico Empiric on the San Isidro turf.
