The mare from Stud G & G defeated Jin Jin decisively in the Maldivas, while the Sebastián Latof trainee went wire to wire to capture the Handicap Haras La Providencia

LA PLATA.- It was a lively Tuesday card at La Plata, with Estrella del Día and Sirirí Morocho emerging as standout performers thanks to strong victories in the Clásico Maldivas (1500m) and Handicap Haras La Providencia (1100m), respectively, both run over a fast dirt track.
Making her local debut, Estrella del Día, representing Stud G & G, displayed class and grit to earn her most significant win to date over Jin Jin (Full Mast), the reigning winner of the G2 Polla de Potrancas.
Trained by Guillermo Frenkel Santillán, the daughter of Il Campione went straight to the front and never looked back, setting early splits of :24.26 and :47.36 while fending off pressure from Tac-Tac (Manipulator) and Belle Chanson (In the Dark).
Turning for home, the Haras El Paraíso-bred filly kicked clear along the rail and, under a confident ride from Juan Cruz Villagra, held safe late to win under wraps. Jin Jin closed well from off the pace to grab second, but the 3/4-length margin was deceptive, as Estrella del Día had things well in hand. Champion Craf (Mastercraftsman) checked in third, five lengths further back, with the final time a sharp 1:30.19.
Out of the multiple stakes-winning Anacarsis (Angiolo)—a full sister to black-type scorer Angie—Estrella del Día is her first foal and now a stakes winner herself.
Just moments later, Sirirí Morocho (Seize), also making his first appearance at La Plata, delivered a front-running performance to capture the Haras La Providencia H. in gutsy fashion.
Breaking from the rail and carrying 55 kilos, jockey Martín Valle sent the Stud El Gran ZV runner straight to the lead. He withstood heavy pressure from Don London (Orpen, 57.5 kg) into the stretch and then dug in gamely to repel a late surge from Cántaros Song (Alcindor, 58 kg), prevailing by a short neck.
Trained by Sebastián Latof and bred by Haras Alborada, Sirirí Morocho stopped the clock in 1:04.59 for the 1100 meters.
