The Winning Prize filly, a heavy favorite, got up right on the wire to deny Risible

A heavy favorite at the windows, Existing lived up to the confidence placed in her with a last-gasp victory in the Handicap Miss Grillo (2200 meters, dirt), unleashing a powerful late rally to get up in the final strides.
Benefiting from the light impost of 52 kilos and the hot hand of jockey Lautaro Balmaceda—who seems to turn everything he rides into gold—the daughter of champion Winning Prize came from far back to collar Risible (Oren, 57) right on the wire, prevailing by a neck in 2:18.68.
Two lengths behind, the pacesetter Pasaron Cosas (Treasure Beach, 53.5) completed the trifecta, while Emma Novela(Emmanuel, 55.5) checked in fourth, another length and a half away. The rest of the field had little impact and finished well back.
Trained by Miguel Planas for Stud Barakhian, Existing came off an easy win over 2000 meters at Palermo for her second career success in 17 starts, and she continues to show marked progress—especially over longer trips.
Bred by Haras El Turf, the Miss Grillo heroine is out of Exploration (Sunray Spirit), making her a half-sister to the durable Extra Wasabi (Emperor Richard) and from the family of Croquignole (El Califa).
