Strong figures were recorded at the Second Annual Yearling Sale of Haras La Leyenda, which on Thursday dispersed its entire 2024 crop at its facilities near San Antonio de Areco, drawing a packed crowd under the organization of Racehorse.

At the close of proceedings, the top price was commanded by filly Fabulosa Tap, a daughter of leading sire Il Campione (Scat Daddy) out of Fisher Pond (Tapit), and a half-sister to G3 winner Fiolo Boss (Holy Boss) and stakes winner Fox Embrujado (Storm Embrujado). She was secured for $60,000 by Juan Carlos Bianchi, on commission.

The major attraction of the sale was the official presentation of the first crop of Capensis (Tapit), winner of the Virginia Derby (G3) in the United States and the flagship stallion at the farm of Alberto and Renata Stein. All gray—unsurprisingly, given his influence—they were very well received.

One of his offspring, filly Superultramega, shared the second-highest price with Pan Zhanle, both bringing $50,400.

The former, a September foal, is the first produce of the highly talented Swiss Candy (Señor Candy), winner of the Clásico Asociación Cooperativa de Criadores de SPC Ltda. (G3) and a half-sister to G2-placed Sol y Boss (Holy Boss). She was purchased by Juan Saldivia, on commission.

Pan Zhanle, from the first crop of G3 winner Mutasaabeq (Into Mischief), is a half-brother to Uruguayan champion Prelude Rye (Catcher In the Rye) and stakes winner Preston Boss (Holy Boss), and was acquired by Hugo Sanagua, also on commission.

By the end of the sale, the 29 horses sold—only one failing to meet its reserve—generated a gross of $778,800, with an average of $26,855 and a median of $24,903.
