The Hurricane Cat Filly Prevails in the Clásico Santa Rosa de Lima

LIMA, Perú (Special for Turf Diario).- The Argentine flag waved once again on Monterrico’s turf courtesy of Fidenzia, who unleashed an unstoppable rally to take the Clásico Santa Rosa de Lima, contested Sunday over 2000 meters on the grass.
The 4-year-old chestnut, a daughter of Hurricane Cat out of Fungosa (Roy), bred at Haras Vacación and racing for Stud Jet Set, displayed both class and heart to register her third career win in just eight starts, solidifying her status among the top fillies on the circuit.
Ridden with precision by Carlos Trujillo and presented in peak form by trainer Juan Suárez, Fidenzia bided her time early as Kyra Kyralina (DonJuan) set the pace with firm fractions. In the stretch, the Argentine filly surged powerfully on the outside, overtaking Suemy (Singe The Turf) in the decisive final meters to win by a neck.
The favorite Kyra Kyralina had to settle for third, three-quarters of a length behind, while La Gran Fili (Yazamaan)completed the placings at 1 1/4 lengths. Further back came Stephanie (Slumber), Abu Yris (Editorial), and Forty Angela (Fortify).
With this victory, Fidenzia boosted her earnings to S/28,050 and confirmed she is in excellent form. The Hurricane Cat filly, who had already shown flashes of quality in previous outings, now stakes her claim as a filly to watch in the upcoming top-level contests of the Monterrico season.
