Fiesta Porteña and Elvitas have joined the broodmare band at Santa Inés

Both Grade winners will join Nanda Dea, Nanabush, and Martana as new broodmares, whose returns to the farm were reported exclusively by Turf Diario; meanwhile, Strategos will contribute his genetics as a stallion

CAPITÁN SARMIENTO, Buenos Aires—The present is enjoyed, but the future is built. At Haras Santa Inés, that philosophy is once again on full display ahead of the new breeding season, marked by a major renewal of its broodmare band—a strategic push combining high quality, top-tier racing credentials, and families that are deeply rooted in the recent history of the operation led by Alessandro Miserocchi.

As Turf Diario exclusively reported a few weeks ago, three of the top performers to carry the Santa Inés silks in recent seasons—Nanda Dea (Fortify), Nanabush (Il Campione), and Martana (Fortify)—have returned home to launch their second careers at stud. Joining this high-caliber trio are two major additions: Fiesta Porteña (Fortify), winner of the Clásico Omega (G2) and Clásico Carlos P. Rodríguez (G2), already covered by Strategos (Zensational); and Elvitas (Cosmic Trigger), winner of the Clásico Eudoro J. Balsa (G3), a recent acquisition slated to visit Fortify.

These additions clearly highlight the vision at Santa Inés: translating racetrack success into long-term genetic equity by retaining top-class fillies and mares, ensuring that the families that have brought so much glory continue to flourish through future generations.

Regarding Nanda Dea, Nanabush, and Martana, Turf Diario previously broke the news of their returns and initial matings. The former, crowned Champion Miler of 2023, will be covered by Strategos; Nanabush, honored as 2024 Horse of the Year, will visit Fortify; while Martana was booked to Il Campione.

Both Nanda Dea and Nanabush return from the United States, where they continued their careers after achieving top-level success in Argentina. Nanda Dea scored her biggest career victory in the Gran Premio San Isidro (G1), while Nanabush delivered a dominant performance to capture the Gran Premio Copa de Diamante (G1).

Martana, meanwhile, put together a devastating race record on both sides of the Río de la Plata. In Maroñas, Uruguay, she claimed the Gran Premio Ciudad de Montevideo (G1), while in Palermo she turned in two crushing performances, winning the Clásico Ignacio Correas (G2) by 15 lengths and the Clásico Chile (G2) by 12.

Adding to this roster is Fiesta Porteña, another established stakes winner already covered by Strategos, while Elvitasrepresents a key acquisition from outside the farm and will have Fortify as her inaugural mate.

The addition of Strategos to the Santa Inés stallion lineup caps off a high-impact strategy for the upcoming breeding season. His presence expands the farm’s options for its homebred families while bolstering a pedigree program that continues to grow year after year.

Retaining the top females bred or raced by Santa Inés is no new experiment. Instead, it is part of a patient, long-term construction built over years, backed by legendary producers such as Quendom (Intérprete), Kalithea (Exchange Rate), Kiriaki (Catcher In the Rye), Querida Rebecca (Exchange Rate), Marsigliese (Mutakddim), Key Dance(Freud), Empress Jackie (Southern Halo), Norimberga (Exchange Rate), Kandara (Catcher In the Rye), Orpen Moon (Orpen), and Kiriel (Orpen), among many others that left their mark.

This reflects the core philosophy driving Miserocchi's project: closing the circle. Breeding horses capable of competing at the highest level, enjoying their racing careers, and when the time comes, bringing the most valuable mares back home so their talent can pass on to future generations.

In breeding, results demand time. The future foals of these champions won't enter the sales ring until 2028, but the excitement builds long before that. Every mating represents a calculated plan, and every birth will be the culmination of years of selection, racing, decisions, and planning.

Santa Inés is betting that the victories of Fiesta Porteña and Elvitas, alongside those of Nanda Dea, Nanabush, Martana, and company, won't stop at the finish line. A new, far longer campaign begins for them now, with results that will unfold over time.
