The Federico de Alvear (G2), Yatasto (G3), and Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G3) classics will provide the week’s strongest attractions at San Isidro and Palermo

As on every Tuesday, the racing offices at San Isidro and Palermo worked tirelessly to shape the upcoming cards, which will feature three progressive-level classics as the main attractions.

The highlight is expected on Saturday at the Jockey Club Argentino, where the Federico de Alvear (G2, 1800m, turf) and Yatasto (G3, 2400m, turf) classics will be contested. The Alvear, for 3-year-old fillies, serves as a key prep for the Gran Premio Enrique Acebal (G1), while the Yatasto, open to horses four and older, forms part of the path toward the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1).

For the Alvear, only Catys Queen (Lizard Island), a recent winner of the Clásico Marina Lezcano and among the top contenders, has been withdrawn. That likely elevates Mi Confesión (Suggestive Boy) to the role of favorite; she was third in the Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1) and previously captured the Clásico Bayakoa (L). Other confirmed runners include Carmensita (Treasure Beach), Doña Lógica (Equal Stripes), Doña Vainilla (Il Campione), Great Fight (Equal Stripes), Invocación (Treasure Beach), and the Brazilian Pale Ale (Outstrip).

In the Yatasto, Equal Mostaza (Equal Stripes), fresh off victories in the Clásico Cocles (L) and Clásico General Pueyrredón (G3), will face seven rivals: Don Champagne (Long Island Sound), Don Tigre (Cityscape), El Darwin (Il Campione), Ninguneando (Bodemeister), Orpen Again (Seek Again), Soñador Spring (Greenspring), and Time to Think (Seahenge).

At Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, the premier event of the period comes Friday, October 26, with the Clásico Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G3, 1000m, dirt), restricted to fillies three and older. Eight entered and all eight were confirmed, including La Bella Otero (Daddy Long Legs), Go Clari Go (Strategos), and Verdadera Pass(Distinctiv Passion), who will face more experienced rivals: Aubrie (Angiolo), Bantia (John F Kennedy), Beau Breeze(AP Candy), Eleven Mile (Il Campione), and Lissette Island (Lizard Island).

San Isidro will also host turf racing on Wednesday, October 1, while Palermo returns on Monday, September 29, with handicaps serving as the feature events.
