The Rosario based extended his unbeaten streak this season with a solid victory in Monday’s Handicap Practicante at Palermo

Coming off two important victories at Hipódromo Independencia de Rosario, Hop On extended both his strong form and his unbeaten record this season on Monday, capturing the Handicap Practicante (1400m, dirt), the feature event on the card at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo.
Carrying 58 kilos, among the highest weights in the field, the son of Endorsement proved quick, courageous, and determined, racing prominently from the outset. With Diego Cardozo aboard, he battled for much of the race with the tough Beauty Sea (Seahenge, 58 1/2), took command in the stretch, and still had enough left late to hold off favorite Che Vivi (Manipulator, 57 1/2), who had to settle for second, beaten 1 1/2 lengths.
Another 1 1/2 lengths back, Ivanov (Easing Along, 52 1/2) rallied to complete the trifecta, with the same margin to Beauty Sea, who weakened late. The final time was 1:24.48, after solid fractions of :24.35, :47.74, and 1:11.61.
Bred by Haras La Quebrada and carrying the colors of Stud Quilmes—the same silks once worn by champion Infiltrada (Footstepsinthesand)—the victory marked the eighth of Hop On’s career from 25 starts, pushing his earnings to nearly 40 million pesos.
Norberto Ricchi trains the afternoon’s top performer at Palermo, a horse who had already come close several times at this level and who finally settled the score with a deserved victory.
