Forever Rim Holds a Strong Chance to Return to the Winner's Circle

A stakes winner, she will carry the top weight of 59 kilos in the Handicap Jerry Honor, the feature event of an attractive card at San Isidro; Espouse, Blessed of Glory, and Gran Celestial loom as her main rivals

A card that invites racing fans to follow every step closely will unfold this Saturday at Hipódromo de San Isidro, featuring a card packed with numerous events for 3-year-olds and rising prospects. Within that context, the Handicap Jerry Honor, contested over 1000 meters for mares 4 years old and up, takes center stage, with Forever Rim standing out as the standout figure and a formidable favorite.
The daughter of Remote will carry the top weight of 59 kilos, an assignment that, in light of her credentials, appears quite manageable. In fact, she could easily have been assigned a higher package given the caliber of her recent performances and her proven ability to compete against the region's elite sprinters.
Winner of the Clásico Producción Nacional (L), Forever Rim comes in on a curious streak of 10 starts without a win, though she hit the board in every single one of them, with the sole exception of a disastrous spill in the Gran Premio Suipacha (G1). That remarkable consistency speaks to her longevity and builds the sense that a return to victory lane is imminent.
Her latest effort was particularly illustrative. In the Clásico Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G3) at Palermo, she finished third, beaten just a neck and a neck by La Bella Otero (Daddy Long Legs) and Enjoy Dancing (Hi Happy) in a blanket finish. That performance places her back in a position of privilege and gives her every reason to target the top spot.
Naturally, the path won't be completely clear. Among the rivals most capable of making things difficult is Espouse (Il Campione), who enters off a valuable allowance score against males, displaying speed and solid form. Carrying just 55 1/2 kilos, she gets a significant weight break from the favorite—a factor that could prove decisive if she translates her current form to higher-level competition.
Consideration must also be given to Blessed of Glory (Hat Ninja, 55), who finished sixth in the Clásico Etoile (L) over 1200 meters on the local dirt track, beaten 9 lengths by Creencia Espiritual (Strategos). That effort fell well short of her best potential, but she now encounters a different setup, cutting back 200 meters with an opportunity to bounce back.
Another intriguing contender is Gran Celestial (Il Mercato, 57 1/2), making her return off a 193-day layoff. Her last start came in the Handicap Haras El Paraíso at La Plata, where she finished sixth before entering an extended rest.
The mare possesses respected credentials, particularly at La Plata, where she captured the Especial República de Panamá and the Handicap Haras Cumeneyén, alongside black-type placings. The question mark naturally surrounds her fitness level following so many months on the sidelines. If she returns close to her best form, she could prove to be a dangerous threat.
Nevertheless, Forever Rim holds the highest merits and faces a highly favorable scenario to snap her long streak of close placings. Her 59-kilo assignment does not look like an insurmountable obstacle, and on class and recent form, she stands as the mandatory horse to beat in the Jerry Honor.
It will be the main event on a Saturday program that promises plenty of action, featuring numerous young prospects seeking to take key steps in their respective campaigns.
