Due to the Argentine National Team's Match, the San Isidro Card Will Conclude Early at 5:30 p.m.; Haras Firmamento's Mare Looms as the Choice on the Straight Course

Anticipating the highly awaited 2026 World Cup matchup where the Argentine national football team is set to face Cape Verde today at 7:00 p.m., the management at Hipódromo de San Isidro has wisely adjusted its schedule. This Friday's 11-race card has been shifted to run from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., ensuring turf fans and professionals can enjoy the races well before kickoff.

Action on the turf course takes center stage early, with the afternoon's feature event scheduled for approximately 3:00 p.m. A field of fillies and mares aged four and up will square off in the Clásico Producción Nacional (L), a highly tactical 1,000-meter straight-course handicap.

Arriving on the heels of three consecutive runner-up finishes, the fourth time could well be the charm for the consistent Forever Rim (Remote {GB}—[Dam], by [Broodmare Sire]). Carrying a demanding 58.5-kilo assignment, the Haras Firmamento homebred is heavily tipped to achieve consecutive victories in this race, having captured the trophy exactly twelve months ago. Under the guidance of regular pilot Aníbal Cabrera, the bay mare narrowly missed in the Clásico Miss Terrible, the G3 Clásico Olavarría, and the Handicap Good Passion, but now lands in an ideal spot to break her bridesmaid streak.

Securing the repeat will be a stern test against top-flight competition, spearheaded by topweight La Bella Otero(Daddy Long Legs), who is tasked with carrying a burdensome 60.5 kilos. Already a winner of the G2 Clásico Venezuela and the G3 Clásico General Lavalle, this will mark only her second career appearance on grass—having previously checked in an acceptable eighth in the G1 Gran Premio Félix de Alzaga Unzué. She enters off a fighting third-place finish, defeated by just a pair of heads, in the G3 Clásico República de Panamá on the Palermo dirt.

The primary choice will also have to contend with the lightweight threat of Verdadera Pass (Distinctiv Passion), who figures to be highly dangerous under a featherweight assignment of 53 kilos. In her most recent outing, she finished a close third, just a neck behind Forever Rim, in the Handicap Good Passion, indicating she is right at home against this caliber of competition.

Making her highly anticipated seasonal departure from La Plata is the talented Calle de Tierra (Strategos), weighted at 59 kilos. The filly will look to rediscover her finest form upon transitioning to the San Isidro turf following a couple of uninspiring recent efforts on her home track.

The deep lineup features established stakes winners Enjoy Dancing (Hi Happy {Arg}, 58kg), Eleven Mile (Il Campione {Chi}, 56kg), and Tormenta China (Malenchini, 59kg), all of whom possess the back class to rebound despite sub-par recent form. Up-and-comer White Lotus (Daddy Long Legs, 54kg) looks poised for an improved performance, while the lightweight The New Star (Lenovo, 51kg) completes the competitive field.
