The daughter of Señor Candy, bred by Haras La Manija, stormed from last to first to capture the Clásico La Red over 1000 meters at Hipódromo Chile. Premier jockey Jaime Medina played a decisive role in a thrilling, heart-pounding finish

SANTIAGO, Chile (Special for Turf Diario).— A closing rally to watch on repeat. That is how impressive Framing was on Thursday in capturing the Clásico La Red, contested over 1000 meters on the dirt at Hipódromo Chile, where the Argentine-bred filly achieved the finest victory of her career with a truly spectacular finish.

Ridden by Jaime Medina, the daughter of Señor Candy found herself dropped back to last as the gates flew open, but steadily made up ground along the inside rail. Entering the stretch, her rider angled her toward the center of the track, unleashing an irresistible turn of foot that ultimately collared Ride Like a Girl (Palm Springs) practically on the wire.

The runner-up had set all the pace up front, utilizing her natural speed, and appeared to have the race sealed. However, the closing strides belonged entirely to Framing, whose formidable acceleration snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Weight proved to be a major factor in the outcome: while the winner carried a featherweight of just 53 kilos, Ride Like a Girl shouldered a demanding top weight of 60 kilos. The clock stopped at 56s81/100 for the 1000-meter trip, capping a thrilling contest. Finishing third, three-quarters of a length behind the runner-up, was Lady Juge (Flyer, 52 kg).

Trained by Eugenio Switt for Stud Stefy, Framing had been signaling that a breakthrough stakes win was imminent. In February, she finished second in the Clásico Moscona, and in her most recent outing, she occupied the same spot in the Clásico República del Perú, also over the kilometer dirt track at Independencia.

Prior to Thursday, the Argentine-bred filly had compiled 27 starts with just 2 victories to her credit—the first coming in a maiden event at Club Hípico de Santiago and the other in handicap company at Hipódromo Chile. Now, with her maiden stakes victory secured, her career enters a whole new dimension.

Bred by Haras La Manija, Framing is out of the stakes winner Framea, the finest offspring produced by Cafrune(Colonial Affair), the memorable top-class miler trained by Néstor Yalet whose signature triumphs included the Gran Premio Joaquín V. González (G1) at La Plata.

Argentine bloodlines once again made their presence felt in Chile, this time through a mare who delivered an unforgettable late charge to claim the most significant victory of her career.
