The jockey was the standout star of Monday’s meeting in Buenos Aires, riding home five winners; the Forge filly notched her first victory on the turf

Francisco Leandro is unstoppable, and on Monday at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo he showcased his remarkable form once again, scoring five wins — including a victory in the Clásico Perú (G2) aboard Vota Bien (Hi Happy).
The jockey, who has already crossed the wire first 230 times this season, came off a hot weekend that included four wins at San Isidro on Saturday and five victories on the 20th of this month, a truly impressive streak, regardless of surface or distance.
This time, his winning spree began with the imported Piangere (Palace Malice), continued with the feature race, and was capped off by a hat trick aboard Talentosa Ine (Equal Talent), the gray Safety Game (Safety Check), and Lobo Viejo(Cosmic Trigger). With those wins, Leandro has now posted 114 first-place finishes at Palermo in 2024, firmly establishing himself as the leader atop the standings.
The card, which featured mostly lower-level conditionals, also included a race for maiden fillies at 1200 meters on the turf — a somewhat puzzling decision during this crucial phase of the season’s selective schedule.
In the Premio Fragotero, it was all about the filly from Entre Ríos, Levure Fraiche (Forge – Levure, by Lode, trained by Gloria Solanet de Pavlovsky), who responded perfectly to her strong form on the turf at Hipódromo de San Isidro, delivering a convincing victory that rewarded her backers with a hefty $5.35 payout.
Ridden by Jesús Muñiz and trained by Gerardo Alteño for Stud Pacífica, the bay never gave in, taking the outside path in the stretch and finishing two lengths clear of favorite La Vedetta (Señor Candy) in a final time of 1:13.86. Closing fast, Kaneyeva (Forge) grabbed third place, three lengths behind.
The granddaughter of champion Croassant (Confidential Talk) appears to improve with every outing and seems to have found an ideal turf surface in Buenos Aires to shine.
In another noteworthy event, the Premio Mezzopiano (1200m, dirt) for four-year-olds with a single win, Bienhechor(Hurricane Cat – Couldn't Be Better, by True Cause, trained by Guillermo Frenkel Santillán and owned by Haras El Mallín and Héctor Antonio) pulled off an upset, edging out Flor de Blues (Le Blues) by three-quarters of a length. Ridden by Iván Monasterolo, Bienhechor defied expectations in a closely fought finish.
