Full Odalis Did Not Miss Her Chance and Earned Her Biggest Victory in the Cipayo

In the absence of Ana de Armas, the daughter of Full Mast controlled the pace from wire to wire at San Isidro, guided by Iván Monasterolo; the Stud El Chorrito defender belongs to a maternal family of immense historical significance

The scratch of Ana de Armas (Angiolo) substantially altered the outlook for the Handicap Cipayo, the feature race on Wednesday's card at Hipódromo de San Isidro. Stripped of the main paper candidate, Full Odalis (56 1/2 kg) found the ideal setting to take a leap in class and secure the biggest victory of her career, settling matters with notable authority over 1200 meters on a fast dirt track.
Guided by Iván Monasterolo, the daughter of Full Mast left no room for speculation. She broke with purpose to seize the lead, set her own tempo, and went wire-to-wire, with none of her rivals ever posing a serious threat to her control.
Trained by Eduardo Accosano, the Stud El Chorrito defender hit the home stretch with plenty in the tank and quickly opened up a decisive margin. From there, it was simply a matter of maintaining momentum, as she crossed the wire 2 1/2 lengths clear of Eneta (Fortify, 57), while Talentosa Ine (Equal Talent, 56) completed the trifecta another 3 1/2 lengths back.
Her final time of 1m10s20/100 further validated her performance, particularly given the ease with which she handled the assignment. It was a display of sustained speed and dominance, taking full advantage of an opportunity that presented itself under ideal circumstances.
Bred by Haras Gran Muñeca, Full Odalis thus reached her fifth victory from 20 starts, building a career profile that now hits an important turning point. Her first triumph beyond non-winners' conditions opens intriguing prospects for a mare who showed more than enough talent to target future stakes challenges.
Yet if her racetrack performance merits praise, her lineage is equally noteworthy. Full Odalis is the second foal out of Odiseas (Dynamix), a mare who collected multiple black-type placings during her own career and had already produced Odilón (Quiet Brazilian), a three-time winner at San Isidro.
Her family story, however, runs much deeper. Odiseas stems from one of the landmark maternal lines in Brazilian breeding—that of Griffe de Paris (Telescópico), a proven fountain of top-class horses whose influence extended across generations and borders.
That same genetic stream produced names of immense historic weight, including G1 winners Global Hunter (Jade Hunter) and Genereux (French Deputy), both bred in Argentina, as well as Open Secrets (West by West), dam of the legendary Ollagua (Pure Prize), a multiple champion on the track.
The list of notable family representatives also features G1 winners Grezzo (Hi Happy) and Greta G (Exchange Rate), and boasts a timely reference in Opinium (King Guillermo), who captured the Clásico Candy Ride (L) on the San Isidro turf just a week ago.
Thus, Full Odalis's victory signified more than just a step forward in her racing career. It also brought back to center stage the enduring vitality of a maternal family that continues to produce high-caliber runners, finding in the daughter of Full Mast another banner-bearer capable of upholding its prestige. The Handicap Cipayo belonged to her with indisputable ease. And while the absence of Ana de Armas cleared much of the path, the dark bay did everything required to turn that early advantage into a victory of genuine value.
