Fully Subscribed seeks her first G1 win in a Personal Ensign steeped in revenge

The daughter of Tiz the Law will renew rivalries with Scottish Lassie, whom she caught right at the wire in the Shuvee Stakes (G2); a field of 6 mares will clash seeking victory and a guaranteed berth in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff

SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York (Special for Turf Diario).— The sensational Travers Stakes (G1) card will feature another of its high points with the running of the Personal Ensign Stakes (G1-1,800 m, dirt, $500,000), a race that will also offer its winner an automatic berth into the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) this coming October at Keeneland.

With a compact field of just 6 runners, much of the spotlight will focus on Fully Subscribed, who will attempt to build on her exceptional recent form and secure her first top-flight victory.

Trained by Chad Brown for Klaravich Stables, the daughter of Tiz the Law comes off a triumph in the Shuvee Stakes (G2), contested over the same track and trip at Saratoga, where she launched a spectacular late rally to defeat Scottish Lassie (McKinzie) by half a length—a rival she will encounter once again.

That afternoon, Fully Subscribed settled in fourth while Snowyte (Good Magic) set the pace and Scottish Lassieapplied early pressure. The latter took command as they hit the home stretch and opened up a 3-length lead, but Fully Subscribed swooped on the outside, finishing strongly to collar her in the final yards, stopping the clock in 1m49s46/100.

“The way she ran down a very good mare showed a lot of heart, determination, talent, and maturity. I think she's finding her best self right now,” Brown noted.

With Flavien Prat back in the saddle, Fully Subscribed boasts remarkable consistency, carrying a record of 4 wins, 3 seconds, and a third from 8 starts. In addition to the Shuvee, she captured the Mother Goose Stakes (G2) and the Comely Stakes (G3), both over 1,800 meters at Aqueduct.

This year she has already come close to G1 glory, finishing runner-up to Shred the Gnar (Into Mischief) in the La Troienne Stakes and chasing home Nitrogen (Medaglia D'Oro) in the Ogden Phipps Stakes. “She continues to work very well, and physically she looks great,” Brown added.

Scottish Lassie will seek immediate revenge with plenty of credentials to reverse that result. The Jorge Abreu trainee is already a two-time G1 winner and holds a special affinity for Saratoga, where in 2025 she crushed Immersive(Nyquist) by 15 1/2 lengths in the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1).

Abreu believes the Shuvee served as the ideal prep. “She probably needed that race. She's doing as well as we could possibly hope,” stated the conditioner, who will once again entrust the ride to José Ortiz.

Breaking from post 1 will be Margie’s Intention, trained by Brad Cox and winner of the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes(G2) as well as the Allaire DuPont Stakes (L) in her most recent outing. The daughter of Honor A.P. is no stranger to top-level Saratoga performances, having finished third in last year's Alabama Stakes (G1).

“She likes two-turn races and the 1,800 meters suits her very well. She had a minor setback after running at Laurel, but she's trained well since. She's very honest,” Cox explained.

The Personal Ensign will serve as the ninth race on Saturday's extraordinary card at Saratoga, which features five G1events and culminates with the Travers. For Fully Subscribed, it represents another opportunity to prove that her Shuvee rally was no fluke and that she is fully prepared to make the definitive leap to the highest level.
