The Gidu Colt Faces a Competitive Field Over 1200 Meters on Northern Dirt; Filly Foto Mental Looks to Extend Her Unbeaten Record

A long Wednesday card awaits at San Isidro Racecourse, featuring 17 races with the Clásico Remigio González Moreno (1200 m, dirt) as its centerpiece for three-year-olds, offering 7,200,000 pesos to the winner—almost a conditional allowance level.
Six confirmed runners will line up, and with young horses in a tightly matched field, selecting a favorite is always tricky, as jumps in class can be significant.
The Stud Pauli team, with jockey Gonzalo Borda and trainer Marcelo Sueldo—represented by Juan Pablo E. Díaz—aims to continue its hot streak with Garboso Frank (Gidu), making his northern debut after two consecutive wins and a 2½-length runner-up finish to Valdobbio (Hit It a Bomb) in the Clásico José M. Boquín (L) at La Plata.
The biggest challenge could come from Foto Mental (Leofric), the lone filly in the lineup, who will try to maintain her unbeaten status. Always racing at El Bosque, she won her debut by 12 lengths and followed with a nine-length victory, both from the front. Now stepping up in class, switching tracks, and facing males, her prior form still makes her a major contender.
Sea (Daddy Long Legs) will also be in the mix, seeking a third stakes attempt after finishing sixth in the Old Man (G3)and fifth in the Candy Ride (L) in his most recent outing. Both of his wins came at the same distance he’ll face now, including a 1-length victory over Huracán Risk (Security Risk), who will return seeking revenge and to add another quality mark to his record.
With 10 career starts, Vampiro Zen (Zensational) brings experience, having won the Clásico Forli, finished second in the Old Man, and third in the Isidoro Aramburu (G3). His class and consistency make him a tough contender.
The field is completed by As It Was (Hi Happy), returning after more than three months, far behind Garboso Frank in his last outing.
