The Hi Happy filly shone, taking the Clásico Kevin over 1500 meters on turf

LIMA, Perú (Special for Turf Diario).- Argentine racing left its mark once again in Peru with a dream weekend at Hipódromo de Monterrico. Saturday saw Super Rafito (Super Saver) take the Clásico República Federativa del Brasil, and on Sunday, the celebration continued with Gaza Strip’s victory in the Clásico Kevin, reaffirming the quality and relevance of Argentine breeding on Peruvian soil.
The Hi Happy–Gaza Moon (Easing Along) filly, bred at Haras Santa Inés and racing in the silks of Stud Jet Set, prevailed over 1500 meters on turf under a masterful ride from José Reyes. Presented in peak condition by Juan Suárez, the 5-year-old chestnut notched her seventh win in 30 starts, increasing her earnings to 64,309 soles.
The finish provided suspense to the very end: Gaza Strip edged out her stablemate and fellow Argentine Forty Estrella(Fortify) by half a length, while Red (Power World) crossed third, three lengths back. The heavy favorite Inkaterra(Meal Penalty) got away poorly and finished last, 7½ lengths adrift.
With standout performances from Super Rafito and Gaza Strip, Argentine-bred runners continue to assert their dominance in the region, reinforcing a historic leadership that shows no signs of waning. Once again, Monterrico proved the perfect stage to showcase the quality that distinguishes horses bred in Argentina.
