LA PLATA.- Gidu (Frankel), one of several promising first-crop sires making noise in Argentina, added a third graded winner to his tally when Bolero Frank captured the G3 Asociación de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera at La Plata over 1400 meters on a rain-soaked track.

Coming just a week after Gouverneur Morris (Constitution) made headlines with a G1 double at Palermo, Gidu continues to validate his early promise at stud. A homebred representing Stud-Haras Gran Muñeca, where he stands, the grey colt trained by Diego Peña showed grit and class in overcoming unfamiliar ground and course conditions to emerge victorious in a tough renewal of the juvenile feature.

With Brian Enrique aboard, Bolero Frank tracked a strong pace set by Niño Samurai (Hat Ninja) and Cinco Tapón (Sixties Song), who posted solid fractions of 24.62 and 48.79. Though Niño Samurai clung to the lead into the stretch, Bolero Frank unleashed a determined late run to take command in the final stages and score by 3/4 of a length in 1:28.67.

Lago Nahuel Huapi (Hurricane Cat), who rallied wide, finished a good second, while Niño Samurai held on for third just a half-neck behind, a notable effort in just his second career start.

Out of Boloñesa Key (Key Deputy), Bolero Frank hails from the influential Compasión (Combé) female line, long associated with Haras El Alfalfar. With this win, he now takes the lead role among La Plata’s juvenile colts, much like his paternal half-brother Takeshi Frank, who impressed earlier this season before being exported. Along with Alado Frank, they form a standout early crop for Gidu, who is quickly moving from sleeper stallion to rising star in the Argentine breeding ranks.
